NHS Urgent Medicine Supply Advance Service (NUMSAS)
The NUMSAS service initially established in early 2019, was designed to reduce the pressure on urgent and emergency care of handling urgent medication requests, whilst ensuring patients had access to the medicines and appliances they needed. NUMSAS manages referrals from NHS 111 to a community pharmacy when a patient needs urgent access to a medicine or appliance they had been previously prescribed.
